Reason of infertility are many and involve male, female or combination of factors. These include:
- ovulation problems
- production of sperm or eggs
- hormonal issues
- structure or function of female or male reproductive system
- age
Before beginning a cycle of IVF using your own eggs and sperm, you and your partner will likely need various screenings. We will ask you to forward all your medical documents and based on your medical history and screening test results our fertility specialists will review your, and depending on your specific needs, he will create your personalized IVF treatment plan.
Female pre-treatment screening tests
Gynaecological examination
- Pap smear
- Bacterial testing of female genitalia for: Chlamydia, Ureaplasma, Neisseria
- Bacterial testing and fungal culture of vaginal discharge
Hormonal tests
- The following hormonal tests should be performed between the 2nd - 5th cycle day: LTH (Prolactin), FSH, LH, Oestradiol, Testosterone, TSH, Progesterone
- The following hormonal tests should be performed between the 19th – 21st cycle day: LTH (Prolactin), Progesterone
Viral and other blood tests
- HIV
- Syphilis (RPR/Treponema Pallidum)
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
HYCOSY or HSG or HSC/LSC examination: the examination of the permeability of the tubes and uterus cavity

Breast ultrasound
Male screening tests
Spermiogram
- Identification of the absolute number of sperms
- Analysis of the mobility of sperms
- Identification of the ratio of normal shape cells
Bacterial testing
- Urinary testing
- Analysis of the semen
- Testing of the semen for: Chlamydia, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, Neisseria, Gardnerella
- For suspected urogenital inflammation further andrological examination is recommended
- Prostate massage and testing of the urine sample for: Chlamydia, Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma
Viral tests
- HIV
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Syphilis
In case you have any of the listed test results that are no older than 12 months, than you don’t have to repeat them, just forward your results via e-mail.
